Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run is an after school prgram in the Selinsgrove and Midd West School Districts for girls in grades 3-5. Girls need not be someone who is athletically inclined, but simply seeking to be healthy and feeling good about herself. Cornstalk Nitrate Testing Service-Snyder County Farms
The Snyder County Conservation District is offering a late season cornstalk nitrate testing service to Snyder County Corn Farmers. Samples should be taken when the corn kernel is between "one-quarter milk line" to three weeks after it produces a "black layer." Cost is $10 per test kit. Registration starts at 7:45 am at the Watsontown Elementary School. Cost is $20 for ages 10 and over and $10 for ages under 10. All of the money that is raised will go to the DJD Fight On Foundation, who helped Mike and his family with some of the financial burden that was placed on them during his illness.
