Peggy Chamberlain belongs in a newsroom. She started as a cub reporter for the school newspaper at Sunbury Junior High School and got hooked. Since then, she's been writing copy for radio, television, newspapers and magazines. Peggy has won lots of awards for her news writing from the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters, Associated Press and United Press International. She's very active in community affairs, and is secretary of the Union Snyder Agency on Aging, a Charter member of Selinsgrove Kiwanis, serves on the Penn Township Rec committee, the YMCA's Snyder County Steering Committee, and is an advocate/volunteer with the Susquehanna Valley House of Hope. She was a PTA Officer of nearly every school her two kids attended, and was honored with a Lifetime Membership to the Congress of Parents and Teachers. Her daughter, Francesca, attends James Madison University in Virginia, and her son, Christopher, works at Papa John's in Selinsgrove. She and her husband, Todd Roup, live in Selinsgrove with their two dogs, Rusty and Roxy. Peggy enjoys life to the MAX... the Max Media way... with Morgan in the Morning!
Peggy also shared some personal thoughts:
"My first job was lead singer of Jefferson Starship, but I got tired of being on the road and meaningless relationships. So I went to Woodstock and found myself in the bottom of a bottle of Boone's Farm Strawberry Hills. Two days later, my life found direction... south and home to Central Pennsylvania, where I was born and raised by farmers. Seriously, both my grandparents had farms; one in Paxinos and another in Augustaville. I grew up feeding chickens, riding horses, picking peaches and canning tomatoes. Isn't life great!"
